In Dependence

When the Israelites stood at the foot of Mt. Sinai, they witnessed thunder, lightning, and the very presence of God breaking into their world. Before God gave the Ten Commandments, he revealed who he was—a God unlike any other, powerful yet personal, awesome yet desiring to be known. Drawing from Exodus 19, Psalm 97, and stories from the Second Great Awakening, we are invited to consider what it means to live not in independence from God, but in complete dependence on him. As we step into a new season together, we are called to be a people of prayer, expectation, and awe—ready to encounter God and to shine his light in the world.
