A Yoke Worth Bearing

Before we learn more about this invitation from our Savior to take up our cross and follow him, and before we consider what Bonhoeffer’s understanding of costly discipleship looks like in practice, we have a soft launch of our Lent series on this Transfiguration Sunday as we reflect on Jesus’ words in Matthew 11:28-30 when he describes his yoke as easy and his burden as light. For even if what Christ calls us to is hard as his disciples, it is not meant to be heavy.
